Frame houses
Frame houses have been built in Europe and a large part of Northern America long ago. Frame of the house is a load-bearing structure supporting walls, flooring, and roof. It defines geometry of the future house, supports walls, guarantees strength and reliability of the whole structure.
The frame is made of metal, wood, or reinforced concrete. We use cut limber of pine species dried and protected against moisture during storage.
The frame is installed on a pre-arranged foundation. To make braces, plates, and uprights of the frame manufactures use cut limber of different section - 50*100 mm to 100*100 mm. Then all elements are connected at a site by clamps, nails, and feathers. Structural insulating panels are mounted on the frame.
The structural insulating panel consists of two oriented strand boards (OSB) between which a layer of hard heat retainer is glued.
Advantages of the frame technology:

Cost effectiveness and construction speed. Construction of even large frame house takes several months that is much faster than construction of a stone house – as the frame technology presupposes assembly of the house from almost ready components. As the frame is light, massive foundation is not required. It reduces costs and period of construction.

Non-settlement of the building can be called as one of frame house advantages, except for reliability, durability, and strength. In such house finishing works can be started as soon as the frame is erected.

Expenses for heating of frame houses are significantly lower as compared to wood and stone houses. Thus heat retaining ability of modern insulants is higher than ability of traditional materials.

In addition, due to high density of the heat retainer the frame houses have good noise insulation, no sounds penetrate through walls of your future house.
Rounded-log houses
Round log is characterized by advantages as follows:

Ecological cleanness. Lumber is a natural material works best for individual house-building. Timber walls help to create and support a sound and optimal microclimate. Logs are breathable, due to this fact temperature and humidity are naturally regulated.

Attractive appearance. For rounded logs solid wood is used. Ideally sooth logs are made of it. They look maximally aesthetic, therefore exterior and interior of the house are elegant. The assembled house does not require expensive exterior and interior finish;
- Excellent heat insulation. Heat transfer of logs is low. It enables heat retaining in the house. Due to this fact, it does not require additional heat insulation, and in winter it allows to cut costs for heating;

Longevity. In course of production process logs are processed by wood preservatives and fire retarders. It allows to protect wood against decay, damage by fire and insects. The material is not affected by temperature differences, high humidity, wind, and ultraviolet. Service life of the rounded-log house is decades.

Fast construction. At the site already rounded-log hut is delivered. The only recourse is to assemble the house as a construction set, that requires minimum span time;

Affordable value. Weight of timber is much lighter than weight of bricks or foamed concrete blocks. Due to this fact, lightweight foundations can be used to construct such house. Value of their assembly is not high, and rounded logs themselves are not very expensive.
Canadian cutting
Everyone knows what is cut in cup log construction. But it is a Russian cup. There is another method of cutting the log construction in the cup. In Russia this method is called Canadian cutting. In essence, this method allows to avoid gaps in course of log shrinkage. It means that gaps in cups and daps requiring additional heat insulation will not appear. It is achieved due to pressure affected by lower log cone, because of gravity, on the higher lone cone at a coupling point. The Canadian cutting is one of most expensive premium-class methods of cutting. It does not have drawback, just advantages.
Special features of the Canadian cutting:

Description of the Canadian cutting
For the Canadian cutting logs are adjusted with high accuracy, gaps between logs are absent, the cup is of trapezoid form, walls look solid, heat retainer is invisible. Carefully selected logs are manually are barked by draw-knives, almost not hurting timber itself. Though all natural log bends are left, thus making each house individual and unique. Absence of gaps between logs is achieved by use of special marking tolls and compliance with standards of the Canadian cutting. Net weight of logs in combination with solid fitting ensure durability and reliability of such houses.
Advantages of the Canadian cutting
Special feature of this technology is preservation of solid exterior layer of timber (lost in case of roundup) that prevents frost penetration through walls at low temperatures and significantly extends service live of the house, and the highest accuracy of log fitting. Carefully preserved exterior layer participates in correct air filtration, creates a unique microclimate inside the building, freshness – in summer, and warmth – in winter. Additional preservation of the solid exterior layer (external 3-5 cm) makes timber more resistant to natural protection against environmental effect, formation of mould, fungi, blue discoloration, changes in structure under ultraviolet affect.
